Dear Steamer Lady,

I HATE YOU. I hate your obviously dyed-brown beehive-like hair, your fiftys' glasses, your bony little legs and arms and your crazy eyebrows. I hate your voice, especially when you're asking me to make your goddamn steamer that I make for you 9/10 times you're there. Because I KNOW HOW TO FUCKING MAKE IT, OKAY?! I know, exactly, how much, how long, how little you want. You don't need to fucking tell me every single time. And stop poking  around at our Monin syrup bottles, just because they're off to the side and not in a cabinet. WTF?! I can tell you if there's citric acid in any one of them. You don't know how tempted I am to use one that does just to see what your reaction to that stuff would be.

GO AWAY. I know, you make our coffee sales go up by going here practically EVERY DAY, but you're ANNOYING.

Seriously, if you can remember to bring your punch card, remember where we are and your whole order, how can you not remember that I know ALL OF IT BY HEART.

Just...GTFO. Go to Caribou. Go to that place in Borders. Stop coming and hassling us and sitting right there making me want to claw out of the store.

Sincerely,

The girl who makes your steamers

PS. I never heat your steamers to 140°. I heat them around 160°, because the other's barely hot enough. So there.
Star Wars: No reward is worth this
So posting. Yay~

So on Monday our espresso machine broke at work. Both gaskets had been on the fritz, one spraying the back with stuff and the better one went and broke in three pieces. Seeing as it's made in Italy, the people had to order the parts. Which they said they did on Friday, even tho my manager had talked to them about it a long time ago.

Anyway so it decided to fail while I was trying to make a cappuccino for this guy who knew enough about espresso to know that was as a xx-thousand dollar machine and so we ended up refunding him. Julie was not pleased.

Speaking of customers, i'ma post some peeves of mine. Or rather Stupid Crap people Ask Me / Do.

So. I come in early because my manager has to inventory, ie, counting every single thing in the store. So I get to hold down the fort for the most part. So, I get there. Coffee's brewing, most things are set out. We uncover the ice cream. Moron supervisor last night barely consolidated ANYTHING. There were three H-pans that were practically empty. In the dipping cabinet. And they barely left anything in Prep.

W. T. F?!

For those of you who have no idea wtf I'm talking about I shall explain. We get our ice cream shipped over from the factory in metal H-pans that looks something like this. When it gets to be about half way, we usually switch them out so you're not digging into China. Sometimes there's more than one half so, you put them together, this is consolidation. It's often sticky, and sometimes there's a little too much and you get the "loaf" thing happening but usually you can judge it pretty well.

Other Important Thing. We have four freezers in back, storing the ice cream. Three are heavy duty below zero. One is around 0. That is prep. We like prep because that way we're not breaking our wrists trying to scoop stuff out. Have you ever tried scooping a double or the amount needed for a large shake out of newly liberated back freezer ice cream? It is agonizing. I have to pysch myself up and take some yoga breaths, think on the Tao Te Ching for a few moments.

But that's not all. There was also no whip cream made and barely any waffle batter left. There was one waffle bowl and 6 waffle cones. Guess who made that stuff? Oh yeah. And it's not like we didn't have customers. So thanks, dumbass, I don't care if you're sister's married to some high-up guy in the company. So you have another job that you work full time, well I'm sorry, you're working 'til close but that's your own fault and it was a SUNDAY. We close three hours earlier. You had the TIME. Don't fucking come into our store and move shit around so we can't find it, and leave it like THAT for us to deal with in the morning when you KNOW we have stuff to do.

Now, I'm pretty sure he got reamed by a fellow manager friend of my boss's but, I needed to get that out. I also ended up staying two hours later so the new guy could watch the espresso-working vid and wasn't left alone whilst m'boss did her mad-skillz inventory-ing. Not that I minded all that much, I really do adore her and we weren't wretchedly busy. She's like an aunt to me and we bitch about stuff all the time. ^_^ So here's to you, Jules, you roxer my boxers.

In other news, I'm almost done with my cool NON-CRACK Dresden vid. I'm so proud. That was the only good thing about the internet being wonky yesterday. Of course, since I only have two of the episodes on my comp it's mainly those two, so I'm trying to convert some because the old links aren't working anymore. Knew I should of finished DL'd them all when I first started my collection. Oh well, I shall survive. If the converter ever stops being slow. *poke*
the verdict is WTF?
If you go to the mall, and you have your kids with you:
DO NOT LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED.
Do not let them wander around aimlessly.
Do not let them
CLIMB ON TOP OF MACHINES in a play area that just so happens to be across from my workplace.

It is not my job to watch out for your kids.
It is not my job to yell "Hey, get off that!" or gesture at them to keep them from hurting themselves. I do it only because I don't like kids getting hurt.
But it is NOT. MY. JOB.

Please watch your own kids, for their safety and the sanity of others.

Okay. That's all I have to say.

This is just one of those days.

I found myself staring at the ice cream and realizing my eyes were welling up. I know it had nothing to do with the ice cream, no matter how shiny it might have been. I hate it when I randomly feel sad. It confuses me when it seems to come out of NOWHERE like that.

Not to mention my coworker, whom I shall call "Katie" spent more time socializing than restocking, and so i did a lot of that. I also wrote another chapter-ish thing of this not-quite-fic in which certain HP chars work at someplace strangely similar to BSC. It's actually really therapeutic. Katie has already been featured, so there was no need for clarification. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing that the "me" there is rather...split. I have a Mary-Sue who is an idealized ME and then the main char who is really Snape. I think that's because if I'm writing as him I can get away with being really bitchy or downright cruel. Where as whatsername-Me is just generally a happy, life-on-track...person.

Also, have been listening to Panic! a lot. Especially Build God, Then We'll Talk.

and held a purse of a diff-er-ent ki-i-ind--Along with the people insi-i-ide, what a wonderful ca-ar-i-cature of intimacy...

Yeeeah. Going back to work now.

I'd like to say first of all that I rarely use this journal for "personal" stuff but sometimes it's just easier.

So. It's snowed 8.2 inches so far. I shoveled a bunch of the driveway at 7 in the morning...when I went to bed at like...3. X_X

Posting from the comp at work...which is bad but, there is barely anyone here. The fact that there ARE people here only re-enforces the idea that people are complete MORONS. Who the hell goes to the mall when there's a snowstorm going on? At least I have a REASON to be here, I'm working, but...WTF?

Yeah. So just kind of hanging around, my shift doesn't start 'til noon anyways. Stupid snow. At least there's coffee/espresso.

Oh. And I applies to Panera and Borders. Talked to the Manager at Panera, even, so hey, I might actually get hired there or something. I wish I was working here enough to GET the money I need but I'm not. I'd just be really ideal if I got into Panera as well because...it's right here, like a block away so even if I'm working like 1-4 at BSC I can make a shift starting at 4 too, just...leave early or something. And the Mall's not a horrible place to work, really, aside from teh evil that is the Mickey Mouse kid ride. *shudder*

Anyways that's all I can think of that's pressing. About time for me to clock in, as well.

TTYL, all.
