Well, the good news is my history book came. The bad news is my math book problem is still a problem. The bookstore people actually told me it was better to show up without a book rather than show up with a never-taken-out-of-plastic book that ends up being the wrong one. It feels wrong to me, but since I can't figure out how to contact the teacher (s/he's not on the math faculty, and the only two searches of their name reveals no info on one and an email list and 'tutor' for the other.)

So I guess I'll just show up without one and ask the guy/gal when they show up.

On an unrelated note, Emily and I made Pineapple Upside-Down Cake and did shopping for the apartment. Much was accomplished.

EDIT: It's a guy, according to the class description I looked up. But there is no info on him at all. He's a ghost, apparently.

All right, first things first. Old news to some but Trip out East is canceled because even I am sick now. *shakes fist* At least it's just a cold and not the Death Plague everyone else has.

I applied and got accepted to the community college I wanted. I just need to get those darn transcripts over.

I took the placement test this morning and passed into respectable levels of reading, writing, math. So I can't register for classes until tomorrow, but after I do I have 24 hours to pay tuition. (As TODAY, THE 7TH is the actual date tuition is due, this is not actually a bad thing.)

I will be going as a part-time since Korean at the U is 5 credits, and if I took 11 credits at the college (the max for PT) I'd have 16 credits on my plate. Which is a full-time load. My dad finds this reasonable.

Now I just need to find a place to live. Stupid apartments.

Grades are finally up. And I got...

An A!

Somehow the 'term gpa' was 4.0. Which I can't wrap my head around but hey, I'll take it. I guess I didn't totally bomb the oral stuff after all. ^_^

So. Last semester we had to get a lame work-in-progress textbook for beginning Korean. We had to do the same for seconds semester, obviously since I'm sure it's going to be one huge book.

Every so often there's a Culture page, and I stared a bit at one of them while I was flipping through. Lo, did my eyes behold a strange sight. Big Bang. A blurb on music, the second half on Kpop, and Big Bang in a photo. Now, they didn't label the picture saying it was Big Bang but I know what I saw. I took pictures as proof.

So. Am thinking of going back to college. For realz, yo.

There's a lot of stuff to think about. I desperately need to talk to someone about how I go about doing this because I really don't know how. I was a student at UE and then that didn't work so I went home. And then last fall I become a non-degree seeking student at the UofM.

Anyway, I was thinking with the credits I have and the breadth at which I passed them, I should try out Comparative Lit. Major on the 'Cultural Studies' track. With a possible minor in Korean, because that's only four semesters of Korean and two Asian Language and Literature courses 'in one Asian literature/culture related to the student's area of concentration' Which looks like "Topics in Korean Literature" and "Topics in Korean Culture" So...yeah.

The suck part will be all the Gen ed stuff I didn't do like.. science. And probably math since I don't think I got a high enough grade in the one for it to transfer, but we'll see. I did however get an A in Intro to Psych and a B in Intro to Philosophy, so theoretically they should be fine. But like I said I won't really know anything until I talk to people at the U. Aish.

It should be noted that this whole 'becoming a student by Fall' correlates to the strong fleeting hope desire to go Study Abroad in South Korea in Spring Semester 2010 with my friend. Double aish.

I totally thought I was getting B. Because that's how all my tests averaged. It might not be a high high A, but it's an A!

So. I got at up 6, in order to leave at 6:50, because I thought my final was at 8am. Turns out it was at 8:30, and I could have slept an extra hour.

I had coffee for the first time in five days (boycotted with the sickness) so I had a bit of a shakiness after the final. Granted, I was still sick, which sucked especially since I ran low on Kleenexes during the test. But I needed the coffee.

On the plus side, did not go into work. Emily and I went to Kim's Market. I got frozen mandu (만두), plum(자두) and melon(메론) candy, chopsticks for the girls and some instant jajangmyeon (자장면). The 자장면 was amazingly good. Will have to get more some time.

Oh, and my toes nearly froze off when i waited fifteen minutes for the stupid bus to come. But other than that, I'm doing okay even though it feels weird to be home during the day when it's a weekday.

Aish.

I take my Oral Exam tomorrow instead of Wed because my boss needs me to basically hold down the fort Wed&Thurs while she attends a funeral out of town. I say 'basically' because General Manager is going to be there, but he doesn't really no anything about runnign the place so he'll most likely be in back doing stupid carap. But still, it's the General Manager and it might have been nice to have an extra day to pump myself up.

So I really should brush up on Chapter 7 Conversation 2 and 8 C1.

I have yet to figure out if I bombed the second quiz but I'm gonna guesstimate later knowing what I know I got wrong and using the old quiz as a guide for scoring. Just for my piece of mind, because I made a stupid mistake in spelling the word 'day' which is in every sing day of the week, of course.

Have felt sick to my stomach since I got to work today and a while during work I felt like I was wearing a corset. Boss thinks it's stress manifesting itself in an uncool way. But i bought some ice cream so hopefully it'll come in handy while I'm studying.

I love Korean professor, Yoon sungsaengnim. I want to see pictures of him as a high-schooler. I want to see video of him as a high-schooler, because he must have been the biggest dork on the face of the earth. With like big TOP-like glasses and pens in his pockets and perfectly straightened tie and stuff. *dies*

Anyway. A month or so ago he made us sing the 곰 세 말이 (Three Bears Song). Now, we have to sing 3 Christmas carols:

울면 안돼 (Santa Claus is Coming to Town [lit. You Shouldn't Cry!])
루돌프 사슴 코 (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer [Lit. Rudolph Shiny Nose])

He played this crazy version of the songs like the intro music killed me dead. And then tried to get us to sight-sing. And I died a little along with everyone else who didn't know the carols because it was all "hoshit figure out this Hangul and try and sing it right now crap it's really fast". Didn't work so well. But on my own and figuring out where to slur things together it's not so strange.

And Emily directed me to what I think was a 1999 SM TOWN version of Jingle Bells. And I died more because it was so old school what with H.O.T and S.E.S.

Well, talked to Emily. And have *gasp* made plans to hang out with her and some of her friends, by going to dinner in like.. 2 weeks at a Korean place. I am proud of myself.

We talked on Y!M, I linked her to DBSKer and the epic Stephen Colbert/Rain rivalry. She linked me to random YouTube vids. Like Tokyo Dance Trooper , Two Beers & a Mustache and Wonderguys Haru Haru parody. And the beginning of Happy Together that I just need to finish watching.

Yeah, I kinda overlooked that one when it came out.

And yes, I did do my homework, thank you very much. Now to enjoy my YouTube.
